This piece began as a damaged, unrideable board… a vessel of scuffs and a story that could no longer feel snow beneath its edges. I set it up, stepped outside, and let the October aspens scream their colors at me. The leaves had been shouting all month; I’d just moved up to the mountains and found myself meditating by a small pond as bright colors poured out of the sky. That moment, still, clear, and electric, unfolded into the vision for this piece.
After meditating, I returned to the board and painted her in a single six‑hour flow at the grand opening of a small artist-collab shop in Georgetown. Bold, organic strokes map the aspen trunks and fluttering leaves; layered glazes capture the pond-reflected light that inspired it. The composition was born of meditation and immediacy, a practiced hand guided by a fresh, emotional surge. Because the board is damaged to a certain pair, it is not repairable to be ridden.

This piece is a vision within my minds eye, that evolved through many meditations and quiet sessions by the ponds. Inspired by the bright colors of the Colorado aspens
